About Me

Hi, I'm Katie, the owner and creative mind behind The Sleepy Teepee Co. I'm a wife to my amazing husband, Keith, a retired U.S. Coast Guard veteran, and a mom to three incredible girls–Autumn (10), Ellie (7), and Emma (19 months). Life in our house is a whirlwind of love, laughter, and a little bit of chaos, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Before launching The Sleepy Teepee Co., I spent 15 years as a NICU RN, caring for the tiniest warriors and celebrating their biggest milestones–first breaths on their own, first bottle feeds, and finally graduating and going home. That experience taught me the importance of celebrating every moment, big or small. After developing an autoimmune disease that made nursing difficult, I shifted gears to be home with my girls while still what I love–creating unforgettable experiences for families.

The idea for The Sleepy Teepee Co. was born when Autumn asked for a rose gold sleepover for her ninth birthday. I went all in, and seeing the joy on her face and her friends' excitement made me realize I wanted to bring that magic to other families. Now, I design luxury sleepovers, spa parties, paint parties, paint parties, and more, taking care of all the details so parents can relax and kids can make lifelong memories. I also have a special place in my heart for NICU graduates and medically complex kids, and I love helping families celebrate their little warriors in a big way.

When I'm not planning parties, you'll find me crafting with my Cricut, quilting, cheering on Autumn at softball, playing makeup artist with Ellie, or chasing after Emma as she keeps us all laughing.
